Didn't know where to post this to share with everyone so I figured this would be the best thread.

  • Sodbuster created a new topic ' Weeknight pilot training?' in the forum.
Are there any experienced pilots in the club that are willing to work with
the current members looking to learn/hone their flying skills on a weekday evening?

The current club Pilot trainers do not have the free time this summer to do it.

  • Sodbuster replied to the topic 'GASSER' in the forum.
I set my throttles on gassers up this way.
Throttle stop is backed out so it has no effect.
With the throttle stick and trim set at zero throttle plate should be closed.
With throttle trim set to full but stick still at zero throttle plate should be open slightly.

Usually that's enough to give a high idle at full open trim with zero throttle stick and gives you enough trim to bring it back to a normal idle.

If the engine is dying from full throttle to an idle at that point you have an engine issue most likely needle setting on low end.
Another clue to an improperly adjusted low end needle is slight hesitation/cough going from low to high throttle when abruptly hitting the throttle stick.
